According to the official statistics from the Minamiuonuma City office, the total snowfall here this winter was 1279 centimeters (42 feet). (December 1, 2021 – April 1, 2022)
1279 centimeters (42 feet) …. of snow.
It was a very snowy winter.
As of April 1st, currently there are 67 centimeters (2.2 feet) of snow remaining on flat ground. There is more snow where it has piled up along roadsides or slid off the roofs of buildings.
The ground has been consistently covered with snow all winter since December 2021.
I am going to miss looking out the window and seeing everything covered in snow.
But spring is approaching, and with it will come a plethora of color as nature awakens from its long winter slumber.
