Snowy Winter

Deep snow near the base of Mt. Hakkai (Hakkaisan 八海山) in Minamiuonuma, Niigata, Japan. The traditional torii gate is buried in snow. Makeshift stairs have been carved in the snow to approach the torii gate.

It has been quite a snowy winter.

Although it does snow in March, overall the days are gradually getting warmer as spring approaches.

Be that as it may, it will be some time before all this snow melts…
